Appeal for witnesses: young man assaulted in Oberwil

A 21-year-old man was physically assaulted on his way home and robbed of his fan jacket on Sunday night. The Zug Police are now looking for witnesses.

A 21-year-old FCZ fan was on his way home on Sunday night after the football derby game between FC Zurich and the Grasshoppers when he was attacked by three masked people in Oberwil near Zug, as the Zug Police reported on Tuesday morning.

The young man was on foot when the three perpetrators “physically forced” him to take off his fan jacket and hand it over to them. He complied with the demand, whereupon the three unknown men fled in an unknown direction, according to the Zug Police. The crime took place between 00:30 and 00:50 on Sunday night.

The FCZ fan was not injured in the incident, but he is pressing charges against unknown persons. The investigation is ongoing, and the Zug Police are now looking for any witnesses who can provide information about the perpetrators. They would also like to talk to anyone who may may have noticed the perpetrators after the attack.
