Andreas Clinic expands capacity for corona tests

From Tuesday, 22 September, the Andreas Clinic Cham Zug will be extending the opening hours of the test centre to meet the growing demand for corona tests. The smear tests are now carried out in a tent in front of the clinic, and appointments for this can be booked online independently.

Due to the increasing demand for corona tests, the Andreas Clinic Cham Zug is expanding its test centre – both spatially and in hours. According to the clinic's press release, the smears are now being carried out in a heated tent next to the emergency entrance of the clinic. Patients are received by an employee of the clinic, who first clarifies the administrative matters. The smear test is then carried out in the rear part of the tent by the medical staff.

Longer opening hours, as well as online registration
In addition to the spatial expansion, the Andreas Clinic is also increasing its test capacity, according to the announcement. Ten-minute slots are now assigned on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. People interested in the test can choose the appropriate appointment online at www.andreasklinik.ch/testcenter. They then fill in the registration form electronically and send it to the clinic by e-mail. In this way, appointments can be booked around the clock, and waiting times on site can be prevented. The people to be tested are asked to arrive at the test centre on time.

The costs are borne by the federal government in the case of persons with symptoms of illness (via the health insurance, with no deductible and no franchise). The persons to be tested are asked to bring the card insurance card with them on the date. In the case of persons without symptoms of illness, they must pay the costs of CHF 160 themselves (cash payment on site).
