A rich programme awaits the village this summer
The Freie Bühne Walchwil will be presenting a number of events on the Dorfplatz from the 5th June to the 3rd July.
The festivities kick off at 6 pm on Friday, 5th June, with a darts evening for everyone, regardless of experience or skill level. The focus is on team spirit, fun, and a good atmosphere. In case of bad weather, the event will be held at the Riviera Restaurant.
Under the motto "Summer Breeze”, the 1/2A and 3/4A classes of the Music School will then perform on the Dorfplatz at 7 pm on Wednesday, 10th June. They will sing songs, accompany themselves on instruments, and bring plenty of "Sun and Fun". In case of rain, the event will be moved to the parish hall (Pfarreisaal).
The Edelweiss Walchwil Yodelling Club will also perform on the Dorfplatz at 7:30 pm on Thursday, 11th June. The club has been cultivating this tradition since 1933, and presents classic yodelling. In case of bad weather, the performance will be held at the "Riviera" restaurant.
The alphorn group ‘Echo vo dä Bärenegg’ will play outdoors, regardless of the weather, at 7:45 pm on Tuesday, 16th June. They will also host a reception at 6:00 pm on Sunday, 28th June, following their participation in the 32nd Eidgenössischen Jodlerfest (Swiss National Yodelling Festival).
‘Yestodays’ will take the stage at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, 17th June, when the sextet will play songs from yesterday and today. In case of rain, the performance will be held at the "Riviera" restaurant.

Kurt Zeltner & Band will present their powerful, blues-infused sound from 8:00 pm on Friday, 19th June. Their influences range from Robert Johnson to Gregorian chant.
The big band of the Zug Cantonal Bank, the ‘Swinging Bankers’ will appear on the Dorfplatz from 6:45 pm on Monday, 22nd June; in case of bad weather, their concert will be moved to the Parish Hall.
Latin American rhythms will also be featured
Traditional music and dance are on the programme for Wednesday, 24th June. Starting at 7 pm, the accordion students of the Music School and the children's folk dance group (Kindertrachtentanzgruppe) will showcase their skills, followed at 8 pm by the Walchwil folk costume group (Trachtengruppe) with their musicians. In case of bad weather, the event will take place in the Parish Hall.
The Walchwil Music Society, under the direction of Roland Hürlimann, will play a repertoire ranging from traditional brass band music to modern concert pieces from 7 pm on Thursday, 25th June; once again. the performance will be held in the parish hall in case of rain.
Traditional sounds and dance are on the programme for Wednesday, 24th June. Starting at 7 pm, the accordion students of the Music School and the children's folk dance group will showcase their talents.
‘Encantigo’ will then bring Latin American rhythms to Walchwil with a "Noche Latina." from 7 pm on Friday, 26th June,
On the following Monday, 29th June, the Riviera Band and the ‘6er-Musik’ ensemble will perform together at 7:30 pm: the 6er-Musik ensemble plays traditional tunes, while the Riviera Band, a small group within the Walchwil Music Society, offers a mixed repertoire. Both events will be moved to the restaurant in case of bad weather.
‘Happydance’ and ‘Floor Force’ will present choreography, breakdancing, and hip-hop culture at 7 pm on Wednesday, 1st July. Happydance is coached by Valentina Portmann, Annina Rust, and Vera Odermatt, while Floor Force consists of young dancers from the Dirty Hands breakdancing school in Baar. In case of rain, the event will take place in the parish hall.
The series concludes on Friday, 3rd July, with an open jazz sound performed by the ‘Ladies+Lairds’ international quartet, starting at 7 pm. In bad weather, the cocert will be given at the Riviera restaurant.
