A number of cyclists injured over the weekend

A number of accidents involving cyclists occurred on the roads of Canton Zug over the last weekend, with as many as six people being injured.

Three accidents involving cyclists occurred within half an hour of each other between 2:05 pm and 2:35 pm on Saturday afternoon.
According to an announcement from the Canton of Zug, a mountain biker fell on the Sihlbruggstrasse in the municipality of Baar. The 56-year-old man had to be taken to hospital.
A 58-year-old e-bike rider was also injured after a collision occurred between him and a 42-year-old woman's car at the Neugasse/Falkenweg junction in Baar.
The third accident involved a 91-year-old e-bike rider who was riding on the pavement of the Rischerstrasse in the municipality of Risch in the direction of Küssnacht and crashed into an 11-year-old boy. While the boy was lucky and remained uninjured, the man had to be taken to hospital with injuries. Investigations by the Zug police revealed that the 91-year-old man did not have a valid driver's licence for the motorised bicycle.

Two more self-inflicted accidents occurred on Saturday evening. In the first, a woman e-bike rider crashed into a container on the Metallstrasse in Zug and, a little later, an intoxicated e-bike rider fell to the ground on the Artherstrasse. Both the 56-year-old woman and the 37-year-old man were injured in the crashes.

Around noon on Sunday, a 66-year-old woman cyclist fell over on the Mühlauerstrasse in Hünenberg. She also had to be taken to hospital with injuries.
