A new illuminated Christmas path

A new illuminated Christmas path
Zugerberg

In addition to the tried-and-tested illuminated paths over the Advent and Christmas periods in the Canton of Zug, a new illuminated path has been opened on the Zugerberg in time for Samichlaus Day – in the midst of the freshly snow-covered landscape.

As the darkness approaches, the candles are lit along the Zugerberg illuminated path. The starting point is the Zugerberg mountain station. The illuminated path (Lichterweg) leads over 1.2 kilometres to the ‘Zugiblubbi’ House near the Schattwäldli playground, where an illuminated nativity scene is located, as Karin Fröhlich, media spokeswoman for the ZVB, writes in a statement.

In the midst of a beautiful snowy landscape, the Lichterweg was opened on 6th December and will remain in place until Epiphany on 6th January 2021. While the Lichterweg is in operation, the Zugerberg Bahn will run every quarter of an hour between 6 pm and 9 p.m.

Hope and contemplation
It is intended as a sign of hope and good thoughts for the New Year. In a kind of guest book – a Lichterbuch – that is located at the nativity scene, visitors can write down their wishes and thoughts, and thereby inspire themselves and others.

Corona protection measures are in operation for the illuminated path, and the organisers ask everyone to take these into account.
