20 new police officers in the Zug Corps

According to a press release from Zug Police, twelve graduates of the police training course were welcomed to the service at this year's Swearing-in Ceremony. There were also five men and one woman who have moved to Zug from other police corps, or have re-joined the Zug Police Corps. In addition, two graduates were sworn in as security assistants after completing their training.
 

The commander of the Zug police, Thomas Armbruster, congratulated the aspirants on passing their final examinations: "By joining the police force, you have become responsible for safeguarding the safety of the population and have promised to protect their rights and freedoms."

The twenty police employees were then allowed to step forward individually, place their hand on the banner of the Zug Police and, before the Security Director, Government Councillor Beat Villiger, committed themselves to dutifully fulfil the legal duties of the police for the people of Zug. They were thereby officially became part of the Zug Police Corps.

Government Councillor and Security Director Beat Villiger said: "Today marks the beginning of a new phase in your life. You may have chosen the profession of a police officer for different reasons – but, together, you now share the same responsibility and stand for the core values of our society. "The Security Director is convinced that the new Corps will carry out this demanding task conscientiously and with a sense of proportion. "With your friendly, competent but determined demeanour and consistent actions, you will consolidate the trust, not only in the Zug police, but in the state in general."

After today's Swearing-in ceremony at the Theater Casino Zug, all the aspirants have been sworn in as police officers and security assistants.
