15-year-old tied up and robbed in her home - a police officer injured

Unknown persons tied up and robbed a 15-year-old girl at her home in Oberwil near Zug on Monday afternoon. They also hit a police officer as they fled. Despite a manhunt, the perpetrators managed to escape.

A teenager was tied up and robbed in her flat on the Artherstrasse in Oberwil near Zug at around 4.30 pm on Monday afternoon, as reported on Tuesday by the Zug Police. The unknown perpetrators - presumably two men - then stole a safe and carried it into a van parked outside the property.

The whole thing was witnessed by a police officer, who subsequently tried to intervene. The perpetrators drove off in the van ‘immediately and at high speed’, hitting the police officer in the process. He was thereby injured, and had to be taken to hospital. According to the police, the 15-year-old teenager, who was tied up in the flat, was physically unharmed.

Appeal for witnesses
The police are currently searching for the unknown perpetrators - so far without success. They are therefore now looking for witnesses. The perpetrator's vehicle is believed to have been a white Renault Kangoo with French licence plates. The vehicle is probably damaged on the passenger side.

In addition, one of the suspects is described as follows: 180 cm tall, 20 to 30 years old with brown or black curly hair, brown eyes and a beard. He was wearing short black trousers, a white T-shirt and a black hat at the time of the crime.

Anyone who can provide information about the perpetrators or the vehicle should contact the Zug Police on 041 595 41 41. The police say that the perpetrators may already have been noticed in the Artherstrasse area of Oberwil.

The background to the offence and the exact sequence of events are being investigated by the criminal investigation department and the public prosecutor's office. So far, it is assumed that the safe contained ‘numerous valuable items of jewellery’.
