loud-voiced | unconventional | moving

The opera Talestri by early classical Bavarian composer Maria Antonia Walpurgis Symphorosa was first performed in the 1860s, and since then has rarely featured on the programme at opera houses. All the more pleasing for us to be given the opportunity to tell you the story of Talestri the Amazonian queen who is at the heart of the libretto, here on stage at the Theater Casino Zug. The tale begins with her coronation and traces the development of her love for the Scythian prince Oronte, which causes a war between the two peoples. The Munich Chamber Orchestra combines turbulent history with passionate mythology, as the focus switches to the confrontation between the queen as an artist and her fictitious alter ego. This melodramatic opera will be performed by the ensemble of the renowned Munich Chamber Orchestra, known for their work with global stars of classical music and in particular with burgeoning young talents. The imaginative dramatization and highly original stage concept make for a thrilling operatic experience. Language: German and Italian
