The 17th Central Swiss Sports Festival Zug begins on Friday, June 5, with the Movement Festival (Bewegungsfest). From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., along the lake promenade between the old town and the Schützenmatt, everyone is invited to take part in ‘Chogelitrööle’ (a Hünenberg tradition carried out over 6 km), a frisbee tournament or a discovery tour through the old town of Zug. In this way, people will be made aware of the importance of movement and sport. But helpers are not only sought for the Movement Festival, but also for the construction, the catering on the Stierenmarkt area, looking after the accommodation facilities and camping sites, or for the preparation of the competition sites.
The competitions themselves will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 6th, at the various sports facilities in Herti, at the Kantonsschule Zug, in the Schützenmatt and in the GIBZ Zug. Special Olympics competitions for people with disabilities will also be carried out within the framework of the Sport Festival. In the evening, there will be celebrations in the Curling Hall (beer bar with DJ), in the Academy Arena (gymnastics party with the Blaumeisen) and in the Stierenmarkt area (coffee shop with the One Night Band). The need for helpers is correspondingly high.
Things will be quieter on Sunday, June 7th, with the programme including a festive mass and the closing ceremony.
