Official 1st August celebrations

This Swiss National Day, head to Landsgemeindeplatz for a traditional programme featuring alphorn music and flag throwing, one of Switzerland’s oldest national sports. Refreshments and classic Swiss food specialities will also be served.

Throughout Zug’s Old Town, various cultural institutions will be opening their doors, offering visitors the chance to explore more of the city’s heritage and festive atmosphere.

There will also be plenty of other celebrations and activities taking place across the canton, making it easy to enjoy the day wherever you are.
