Morgarten Open-Air Spectacle

The open-air theatre production Spatenstich – The Second Morgarten Spectacle brings history, humour and contemporary questions together in a striking natural setting by the Morgarten Monument. Inspired by the events of 1315, the play explores themes of tradition, change and community, as past and present meet on stage.

Performed by 40 actors, the production promises an entertaining and thought-provoking theatre experience with a strong regional connection. The premiere takes place on 7 August 2026, with further performances from 12 August to 19 September 2026 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Performances begin at 20:30, with admission from 20:00, and last around 90 minutes without an interval.

Tickets cost CHF 75 for category 1 and CHF 65 for category 2, with a CHF 15 discount available for young people up to 16 years old.
