Vandals spray-paint UBS building
Unknown vandals spray-painted the UBS main offices in Zug on Monday night, before going online to claim responsibility and publish an anti-World Economic Forum message, as was the case with the attack perpetrated a week ago on the "Löwendenkmal" lion statue in Lucerne.
Around 10.30 on Monday evening, unidentified vandals spray-painted the west side of the UBS building on the Baarerstrasse at the edge of the Metalli Centre. Zug police estimate the damage at some CHF 10,000.
Less than three hours after the incident, a user under the name of "Smash Capitalism" took responsibility for the attack on indymedia.org, submitting the following message: "The UBS bank and this particular building are symbols of the capitalist crisis that can only be averted by revolutionary means".
An enquiry is being carried out by Zug police, who are asking anyone with any information on the incident to contact them on 041 728 41 41 .
