The Park Hotel expanding
Now things start to move. There were no objections to the Park Hotel’s new building project. And the hotel has still another plan.
“This new building is important for Zug, especially since the Belvedere project was rejected”
Stefan Gareis, Director
People looking for a hotel bed in Zug during the week often came up empty-handed. A lack of hotel rooms is what the Hotel Park wants to remedy. The hotel plans a Business Hotel with 68 rooms, 14 suites, a lobby and breakfast area in the city of Zug. The new business hotel should be ready for the first guests in one year. And it looks like the plan could come about. Up until the 17th of December it was possible to submit objections to the construction project on the Metallistrasse The Zuger Planning and Building Department however didn’t even receive one rejection. The building permit for the temporary housing has not yet been issued (the building will later have to yield to the planned tunnel) but that should follow in the next weeks.
Stefan Gareis, Director of the Park Hotel in Zug is relieved that there were no objections submitted for the new construction. It shows that the population wants more hotel beds, summarized Gareis. “This new building is important for the city of Zug, especially since the Belvedere project was rejected” says Gareis. ” Local companies who have been looking in vain for accommodation will benefit from the new construction project”.
More apartments
But that is not the only project in the making for the Park Hotel. In May a new Apartment Building, only 300 meters from the Park Hotel, will start operations. Called “Serviced City Apartments”, the 19 air conditioned apartments, all with bath and kitchen, will be offered to guests at the price of 4,500 per month, butler service optional.
