The new mayor, members of the core city council

Following the election of Karl Kobelt of the FDP party as mayor last Sunday, he and other members of the core city council posed for an official photograph in the former headquarters of the Landis+Gyr building at number 22 Gubelstrasse, which is being converted into cantonal administration offices.

On the left is Martin Wurmli, the secretary to the council, standing next to Urs Raschle of the CVP party, who remains responsible for social, environmental and security matters. In the red tie is André Wicki of the SVP party, who takes over as head of finance, formerly the responsibility of the new mayor. In the white jacket is Eliane Birchmeier of the FDP party, the city’s new head of planning, with Kobelt himself on her left. On the right is Vroni Straub-Müller of the CSP party, who is responsible for education as well as being deputy mayor.
