Stolen bitcoin machine found in woodland

The police have announced that a bitcoin automated teller machine (ATM) stolen from offices in Zug last year has been found by a hunter in woodland in the municipality.

The hunter came across the damaged machine in the Herrenwald woodland area, the very same one which had been reported stolen from offices in Zug on 20 October 2017.

Even though there was evidence of drilling to the lock, the CHF 3,000 contained in the machine was still there. It was during the burglary at these offices, the whereabouts of which have not been disclosed, that several thousands of francs’ worth of damage was done. The police also mentioned no arrests have been made in connection with the theft.
