Shoplifters at Zugerland shopping centre arrested in Geneva

Last Tuesday a group of three shoplifters set about stealing electrical goods from the Zugerland shopping centre.

The men carried out their operation between 12.30 and 1pm that day, using the same method each time, i.e. by de-activating any anti-theft device and carrying out the goods in large bags, something which was caught on the shop’s internal surveillance cameras.

Fortunately, with help from security cameras in the underground car park, police were able to identify the car they used, one with German number plates.

Later that same day, border guards operating in the Meyrin area of Geneva spotted the car, in which they found the items stolen from Steinhausen as well as other stolen goods to the tune of CHF 7,000. All four occupants of the car, Rumanian nationals aged between 27 and 44, were duly arrested and returned to Zug.
