Russia-Ukraine Natural Gas Dispute

A Zuger company is directly affected by the gas dispute between Russia and the Ukraine – the gas wholesaler Rosukrenergo, with headquarters on the Bahnhofstrasse. A mailbox company? Not at all, clarifies the company speaker. Rosukrenergo is a Russian-Ukraine joint-venture but the Board of Directors is Swiss. For that reasons the company turned to the Swiss Upper House of Parliament with the request to mediate in the conflict. Currently Rosukrenergo sits on enormous gas supplies. But the company spokesperson is carefully optimistic: “Russia seems to take up the supplies again, Ukraine probably gave in.”
