Police alerted to 77-year-old on her e-bike on the motorway
Police received a number of calls from the public on Friday afternoon to say that they had seen an elderly woman on an e-bike on the motorway.
A patrol was duly sent out to investigate and they found the woman on the hard shoulder of the A4 near Hünenberg. She was duly escorted safely off the motorway, but she can also expect to be charged for her offence.
Earlier that day at around 7.30 am, police attended an incident where a 50-year-old-driver coming from the Neuheim direction failed to notice 59-year-old pedestrian as he crossed Sihlbruggstrasse (second photograph). The latter was injured in the incident and had to be taken to hospital.
In a further incident on Saturday evening, a 22-year-old woman driver lost control over her vehicle as she swerved to avoid a deer on Neuheimerstrasse (third photograph). When the police arrived, the driver was duly breathalysed and found to be over the permitted drink-driving limit. Hence her licence was confiscated there and then. Damage to her car amounted to CHF 7,000.
Fortunately, the deer was unharmed and fled the scene immediately.
