More teachers for fewer pupils

Education politics are in upheaval in canton Zug. Some consider what recently changed has already failed.
If you compare the figures from the year 2003, the changes in Zug are evident:
There are around 3 per cent few pupils and a the same time 15 per cent more teachers. How did this situation occur? Some claim it is due to the introduction of the integrative school system which has been implemented in the past years in canton Zug. The model, which provides for the integration of pupils from small and special classes into the regular lessons,  requires more teachers for fewer pupils, says for example canton Councilman Felix Häckli (SVP, Zug).

For his Chamer political party collegue Manuel Aeschbacher it is clear that “the integrative school model has failed”. Canton Councilwoman Beatrice Gaier from Steinhausen (CVP) sees it however differently. The school must first learn to deal with the new model.
