Measures against violent youth

If a young person hits his parents, the police should be able to use harsher measures. This is what the “left” is demanding.

The 15-year old son has been difficult for his parents for some time. They are not able to tell him anything. They do not accept his behaviour and do not want to put up with it any more - and threaten with drastic punishment. The boy goes crazy and not only words are exchanged. This is a fictitious example that could become reality, fear the SP councilmen Alois Gössi (Baar) and Hubert Schuler (Hünenberg).

Therefore they have submitted a motion that would amend the current the law. Therein the two councilmen request that the police be able to step in in cases where youth are being violent towards parents or siblings. The police should be able to temporarily put the youth in a youth correction centre, without parental permission, for a maximum of ten days. Through this temporary measure the situation on both sides would cool down, or so it is hoped.
