Majority of farmers keep their vehicles in good condition
Many drivers are confronted with slow-moving agricultural vehicles, especially at this time of the year, and often on roads with many bends. “Has the driver of the tractor in front noticed me? Do the indicators on his trailer work? Shall I overtake now?” are some of the questions drivers ask themselves, wondering, perhaps, whether the driver of the tractor infront is about to turn off to the left or right.
Following a police check on as many as 56 tractors and other vehicles used in connection with forestry and the construction business on Wednesday 12 and Wednesday 19 September, seven drivers are to be charged in relation to various offences, with six others ordered to put right technical defects without delay
Overall, the police were pleased with the condition of most vehicles checked, a task in which they were assisted by two experts from the Cantonal Road Traffic Licensing Authority.
