Local start-up company wins prize

A start-up company based in Zug was among the winners of prizes at the World Tourism Forum held in Lucerne on Friday.

The RoomPriceGenie company won a prize in the Transaction category at the event. As Ari Andricopolous of the company explained (photograph), the firm specialises in revenue management software for small hotels enabling them to determine the prices of their rooms in a more dynamic way.

As to the other winners, the Appetita company of Zurich won in the Hospitality category, the Trip Boutique company, also of Zurich, won in the Destination category, with Kitro, another Zurich-based company winning in the Impact category. As to the Mobility category, the prize here was awarded to the Share your Bicar company of Bubikon in the canton of Zurich.

In deciding on the winners, the jury took into consideration not only how the companies presented themselves on stage but also looked at the relevance and marketing opportunities of the products offered, in addition to how well team-skills were demonstrated. The winners each received CHF 5000 in cash and will be able to benefit from a two-year coaching programme.
