Is Bieri a secret government lobbyist?
For the past eleven years the Zuger councilman Peter Bieri has presided over the Litra, the Information Service for Public Transportation. From mid-year on his function will be converted into a 40 per cent job and compensated with 70,000 francs. This additional expenditure will be financed by the SBB, Stadler Rail and PostAuto Schweiz AG. In the current issue of the weekly “Weltwoche” Bieri comes under fire. With the title: “Sleazy Ways” it states that he is taking over a function, which up til now has been done without pay. This may sound harmless, but is a double load of dynamite. Since 2007 it is forbidden for parliament members to be part of an organisation which is financially dependant on the Government. Bierri denies this is the case and speaks of slander.
The accusations are not substantiated. “We clarified everything. The parliament legal advice service came to the conclusion that the Litra is not effected by the clausal” clarifies Bieri.
