Eight car accidents in five hours
There were eight car accidents in canton Zug within five hours, between 7.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Saturday. According to a Zuger police communication, nobody was injured. “The accidents were primarily due to not adapting speed to the winter road conditions” it says. However, we have winter conditions now for a while, so why so many accidents in such a short time? “I don’t have an explanation” said Zuger police officer Stefan Rogger. In the previous days the situation was calm.
Five of the accidents on the motorway.
On Saturday the situation was everything but calm. Two accidents occurred on the A4 just after the Blegi curve in Baar, direction Zurich. Three additional accidents occurred on the A4 at the Zug/Steinhausen exit. In Baar a car landed on it’s roof. In Rotkreuz a driver drove into a construction site barrier. In Oberägeri a driver lost control of his car and hit a street lamp. According to the Police, material damages amounted to several tens of thousands.
One can speak of underestimating the situation, according to Rogger. “The accidents could have been avoided with more caution". He is appealing to people to drive prudently. “It’s precarious now, when it gets warmer snow from trees, for example, drops on the road. Even if the roads are dry, on those places it is wet”.
