Driver and passenger lucky to escape injury in one incident
The driver of a car and his lady passenger had a lucky escape as their car collided with the crash barriers on the central reservation of the A4 motorway early on Saturday morning.
The incident happened shortly after 2 am as the pair were driving in the Lucerne direction in the middle lane of the motorway. For reasons yet unknown, the 35-year-old driver lost control over his vehicle some 300 metres after the Lindencham exit road, causing it to collide with the crash barrier on the central reservation, as mentioned, before skidding across all three lanes coming to a standstill on the right-hand lane.
Fortunately, both driver and passenger escaped injury but, as can be seen in the photograph, the car was badly damaged (photograph).
In a further incident on the A4 that night, a 51-year-old driver travelling towards Zurich crashed near the Blegi curve resulting in him sustaining serious injuries. Police are still investigating precisely what happened.
