Demonstrations on Saturday in Zug and Baar
Tomorrow, fathers will demonstrate in Zug and Baar. They are fighting for the right to see their children and for joint custody.
“I have duties but no rights” says a father from Baar. In desperation he turned to the “Responsible Parenting Group (Verein verantwortungsvoll erziehender Väter und Mütter VeV).
The group demands joint custody. Since eight years parents in Switzerland can be granted joint custody on request, provided both mother and father agree. “If the mother doesn’t want to, there is nearly no chance to win joint custody” says Hunziker.
Meet-up at the Gemeindehaus Baar at 11 a.m. and the Regierungsgebäude in Zug at 1.30 p.m. Flowers and wreaths will be placed in front of the buildings as a sign of sorrow for the lost time with their children.
