Barely finished and already vandalized

The cold weather is holding back the workers from the station – not, however the vandals. The passengers at the track one are no longer subjected to the rain and/or in the snow. The platform roof on the side of the station is nearly finished. “We still have a few things to finish up” says Roman Marti, Press Speaker for the Swiss Federal Trains (SBB).

The graffiti has to go

The cold weather also has lead to delays in cleaning the walls on the station underpass which have been smeared with graffiti. “The graffiti was reported to us on December 24th”, says Roman Marti. Normally, our specialized RailClean team will remove graffiti within four days. The fact that this is not case in Baar has it’s reasons. The special cleaning solution is much less effective because it freezes.

The vandals will have to reckon with formal charges. Marti: “the SBB automatically files charges in such cases”
