Accident on the A4a motorway
On the A4a motorway a driver, trying to avoid a vehicle which suddenly pulled into the normal lane, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the centre divider.
On Tuesday January 13, a 68 year old Swiss woman was travelling in her car shortly before 8.30 a.m. in the normal lane of the motorway A4a towards Zurich. According to the Zuger police, a line of cars were backed up at the Baar exit, due to dense traffic.
An unknown driver pulled out of that line of cars waiting at the Baar exit, directly into the normal lane. The woman swerved to the left to avoid hitting the car which had pulled out, but in so doing lost control over her vehicle. The vehicle skidded and then collided with the centre divider and came to a stop in the fast lane. The unknown driver continued on unrecognised.
Persons were not injured but damages amounted to several thousands of francs. Due to the accident the motorway was reduced to one lane during about an hour, which caused traffic jams.
