A Zuger Neat-train station and a tram?

Liberals and conservatives alike agree that there is a need to further develop the cantonal public transportation system. But it is still not decided which side of the lake the Neat-trains will be taking.

For the Zuger political parties it is clear: Zug must in any case be connected to the Neat-line. The entire network of public transportation is aligned to this junction. Therefore, it would be a huge mistake, instead of Zug, to suddenly favour Rotkreuz. As far as which side of the lake the Neat-trains will be operating, that is something which is more or less still open.

On the other hand, the further development of the Zimmerberg tunnel is for all parties an absolute must. In their response to the government advisory notification on the planned adjustments, they also demand that tracks, streets and busses are treated equally. And they would like to revive the tram. Indeed, it is clear to them that due to the long lead-time for such projects, the tram lines, with a project engineering start in the near future, would be available rather too late than too early.
