80 new apartments planned

On the parcel of land next to the Salesianum, between Zug and Oberwil, approximately eighty new apartments are to be built, starting in 2011. The building ensemble of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Menzingen, which is under national heritage protection, will remain untouched by the new building project.

According to a report on Radio Central, two buildings with three and four stories as well as an eight-story building are planned on the Salesianum parcel between Zug and .Oberwil. The approximately 80 apartments will be conceived for both families and the elderly.

Large parts of the existing green areas are to remain. The Building Department is working out a development plan, according to the report. This will presumably be submitted to the Zuger Council in the Summer.
