Bossard Group's turnover soars by 13.2%

The Bossard Group, which is headquartered on Steinhauserstrasse in the city, has recorded a 13.2% increase in its turnover over the course of 2017, bringing it to CHF 786 million.

The company, “one of the market leaders in fastening technology in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific”, announced on Thursday that it had recorded two-digit levels of growth in all of the afore-mentioned areas it operated in, though more than half of its turnover emanates from Europe. Indeed, it was in this region that turnover rose by 10.8% over the course of 2017 to CHF 445 million.

As for business in the United states, turnover here rose by 18.4% to CHF 220 million, thanks in no small way to its acquisition of Arnold Industries and close cooperation with the largest electric vehicle manufacturer there.

As for Asia, the company was able to record encouraging growth in China, South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia, where, in all, turnover increased by 12.8% to CHF 121 million.

Last year the number of staff the company employed at its 80 locations worldwide amounted to 2,300.

A more detailed report for 2017 is expected to be published on 7 March.
