Aegeri Trophy: an experience for young and old

Final spurt for the Concours Club Aegeri. Preparations for the third competition at the equestrian centre Merz in Unteraegeri are in full swing. The last jumps are being prepared, the grounds being set up - all has to be ready for this weekend, 20 and 21 October.

The show jumpers can be content. The equestrian centre Merz is equipped with all an athlete's heart may desire. The large and light-flooded hall, in which the competition takes place, not only provides a special riding experience, but is also an eye-catcher for the spectators. From the stands, one can comfortably watch the spectacle in any weather. On both days, riders will start at heights ranging from 75 to 120 centimetres.

Special programme for the youngest visitors

So that visitors may also actively experience the horses rather than merely marvel at them, there will be carriage rides on offer from the village to the equestrian centre. For the youngest guests, there is a special programme. Pony riding allows the children to familiarise themselves with horses. Fun is equally guaranteed in the giant sandpit. To adequately celebrate the first day of the competition, the accordion duo Bürgler-Laimbacher will be performing from 8pm on Saturday. The sporting highlight on Sunday afternoon is the Aegeri Trophy. Riders from across central Switzerland compete against one another for the substantial prize money. Meanwhile, visitors can place their bets free of charge.

Keep the weekend free

It may be worthwhile to keep the weekend free for this programme. President of the organising committee Matthias Merz says: "We already look forward to many visitors, and hope to successfully infect those who aren’t already feverishly passionate for horses."
