65-year-old cyclist sustains serious injuries

An elderly cyclist had to be flown to hospital after he fell off his e-bike yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly before 4.30 pm as the 65-year-old was on Untermühlenstrasse on his way to Sinserstrasse with a fellow cyclist.

For reasons yet unknown, he came off his cycle, sustaining serious injuries as he did so. When the emergency service arrived, it was decided to summon a helicopter of the Air Alpine Ambulance, which duly flew him to a specialist clinic beyond the cantonal boundary.
