20-year-old man arrested

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with various incidents of sexual harassment and indecent behaviour in Baar.

One incident occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday 25 July when a 32-year-old woman was followed by a young man and was fondled by him in the Bahnmatt area of the municipality. What is more, he went on to perform a sexual act on himself in front of her prior to leaving the scene in the direction of the station. The victim, who was not physically injured at all, reported the incident to the police, giving them details of his appearance.

Twenty-four hours later, at half-past midnight, the police noticed a man in the same area who fitted the description given by the woman the previous day, and arrested him.

When questioned, the young man admitted the offence and confessed to a similar incident on 21 May this year, also in Baar and also in the early hours of the morning. On this occasion the man had groped a woman in the Schürmatt area and went on to pleasure himself in front of her, too.

Police are now investigating if the man is responsible for any further such acts.
