Yet another take-away and restaurant to open in the city

Anyone looking for something to eat at lunchtime in the city is really spoilt for choice. Nevertheless, another take-away and restaurant is to open on Poststrasse early next year, catering for the needs of those who want to eat healthily.

This new eatery, to be known as the Gärtnerei (nursery), will be the fifth of its kind. Three are currently up and running in Zurich with another in Bern, run by the Pure Food AG company.

The new restaurant at number 24 Poststrasse will have a large salad bar and seating for 40. Furthermore, there will be tables on a terrace outside and a take-away service, as mentioned.

“Our concept in Zug will be much the same as in Zurich and Bern, said Anna Grassler, who is head of business development at the company. “Basically we offer take-away food but with seating for a number of customers. What we offer, from salads and soups to sandwiches and a variety of pastries, will all be fresh, natural and healthy. Some dishes are vegetarian and a number even vegan. What is more, lots of the ingredients used come from organic sources.”

She added that the company wanted to contribute to make Switzerland healthier and that the company had opted to open a branch in Zug because of its attractive location. Furthermore, being not far from Zurich, it helped with the logistics of it all. “Primarily we cater for the lunch time trade but, depending on demand, we may open in the evenings, too. We will see how things go in our initial test phase,” she said.

It was not that long ago that another take-away offering similar fare, Dean & David, opened on Baarerstrasse in the city, not that this concerns Grassler. “A bit of competition is always good to liven up the business,” she said.
