Two separate accidents each involving three vehicles occur on A14

One person was slightly injured when three cars were involved in a collision on the A14 motorway on Thursday morning. Not unsurprisingly at this time in the morning, much congestion was caused.

The incident happened at around 7.20 am on the A14 between Gisikon-Root access road and the Rütihof interchange when three vehicles, all in the overtaking lane, were involved in a collision, leaving one person, as mentioned, slightly injured. This left-hand lane was totally blocked for some time as police carried out their investigation in the precise circumstances. Congestion built up not only on the motorway itself but also on nearby roads.

Just over three hours later, a further accident on the A14 involving three vehicles occurred. It was as one driver was joining the motorway by the Gisikon access road that he failed to notice an approaching lorry, forcing its driver to move to the overtaking lane and causing a car to crash into the rear of the lorry at the same time.

Fortunately, no-one was injured in this but damage to the tune of CHF 15,000 was caused. This incident led to much congestion, too.
