Two people slightly injured in two separate road traffic accidents

Two road traffic accidents occurred in Cham on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in two people being slightly injured.

The first incident happened at around 1.15 pm as a 40-year-old woman was proceeding along the A4 motorway towards Lucerne from the Zurich direction. Suddenly, a lorry driven by a 31-year-old coming from Zug crashed into her shortly after the section known as the Blegi curve. As a result, the car collided with the crash barrier on the right-hand side and then bounced back to come to a standstill on the right-hand lane. Fortunately, the woman sustained slight injuries only. Her car was totally written-off in the incident.

Not long later there was another road traffic incident at the Alpenblick crossroads in Cham (second photograph) involving three cars.

A 27-year-old lorry driver failed to notice a stationary queue of traffic waiting at a red light and crashed into the car in front, which itself was pushed into the rear of the next vehicle. The 28-year-old driver of the car sandwiched between the two other vehicles was slightly injured and had to be taken to hospital.

In all, damage amounting to CHF 20,000 was caused.
