Triaplus AG

The three cantons of Zug, Schwyz and Uri have long been working together in their provision of mental health care. On 1 July this year a new Psychiatric Concordat between the three cantons, headed by Martin Pfister, the director of health in the canton of Zug, came into force.

In order to ensure the provision of ambulatory psychiatric care for patients in these three cantons, a new charitable company, the Triaplus AG, was set up in a ceremony at the Altstadthalle in the city on Monday.

Present on the occasion were Barbara Bär, who is not only the deputy head of government of the canton of Uri but also responsible for its Department of Health, Social Affairs and the Environment, Petra Steimen, who heads the Department of Inner-Cantonal Affairs in the canton of Schwyz, along with Martin Pfister (in the centre in the main photograph with Steimen to his right and Bär to his left).

Members of the board of the Triaplus AG company were duly elected, with Christina Brunnschweiler of Kilchberg in the canton of Zurich as its chairwoman. She brings with her extensive experience in managing complex health-related organisations, not least in being CEO of the Zurich-Limmat Spitex (home care) service, which employs a staff of no fewer than 950, as well as being on the board of many other organisations associated with health matters. Other members of the board include Dr Gerhard Dammann of Tägerwilen in the canton of Thurgovia, Daniel Gründer of Neuheim (ZG), Paul Lalli of Brunnen (SZ) and Dr Alphons Beat Schnyder of Zurich.
Following the official founding of the company and the election of the board, Bär commented that “integrated psychiatric treatment in the three cantons now had a face”.

Those charged with implementing the services are Patrik Hochstrasser, Paul Lalli, Daniel Mohr, Susanne Wenger, Regula Blattmann, Tom Leeners, Gaetan Schmied, Patrick Benz and Angelika Toman, all of whom, except the latter, can be seen in the second photograph from left to right.

The clinics and agencies charged with assisting in the implementation of services provided under Triaplus AG as from 1 January 2018 include the Zugersee Psychiatric Clinic, the Ambulatory Psychiatric Services of the Canton of Zug, the Children’s and Young People’s Psychiatric Services of the Canton of Schwyz, and those of the canton of Uri.

As Martin Pfister concluded, “The setting up of Triaplus AG is an important step on the road to the establishment of integrated psychiatric care which extends beyond the normal parameters of the organisations involved and cantonal borders.”
