Taxi Keiser company sold for undisclosed sum

It has been announced that Conrad Keiser, the son of the founder of the Taxi Keiser AG company, has pulled out of the business entirely and retired to Paris. The majority of shares in the company are now owned by the managing director of the company, Sven Sattler.

The transfer of shares owned by 78-year-old Keiser to Sattler took place in December. As to the price, no details have been disclosed.

Taxi Keiser AG was actually founded in 1928 and, despite its change in ownership, will continue to operate under this name. As Sattler explained, the company is the largest of its type in Zug and, with its 20 vehicles, the only one to be on call 24 hours on all 365 days of the year. In addition to ferrying passengers in and around Zug, the company also provides a taxi service to Zurich Airport, operates a courier service and, with its minibuses, can also provide group transport.

In its 90-year history, the firm has experienced difficult times such as following the outbreak of the Second World War. In those days, no-one had any money for taxi journeys, and what is more, petrol was rationed.
In 1987, Keiser took over the City Taxis company, too. Sven Sattler, the company’s new owner, joined the company in 2001, following in the footsteps of his father Zeno, who had been appointed managing director in 1964.

Not that Keiser solely operated his taxi company, he was also a car dealer, selling Mazda and Honda vehicles in Cham. This business, with its 18 employees and four apprentices, was also sold it its former managing director, Beat Grepper, last December.
