Sika opens two new factories in Asia

The building chemicals and adhesives-manufacturing company Sika, which is headquartered in Baar, has announced it has recently opened two new plants in Asia, one in Myanmar (or Burma as it was known) and another in Cambodia.

In both cases the new plants there produce additives for concrete. As the company mentioned in a statement issued on Tuesday, in so doing it is continuing to implement its so-called 2018 Strategy, which also includes ensuring it gains new markets, opening between six and eight new plants a year in this area.

Sika is the first ever company manufacturing building chemicals to operate in Myanmar, while in Cambodia it has assured its leading market position.

And all this despite the uncertainty over the future ownership of the company, which is to be determined by a Zug court at the end of summer.
