Schubert in the Muotatal

Barde and Zuger Sinfonietta

Barde: Markus Beeler, clarinet; André Ott, Swiss accordion; Laurent Girard, piano; Marcel Lenggenhager, double bass
Zuger Sinfonietta: Philippe Bach, conductor

Franz Schubert: 12 Viennese Damen-Ländler D 734
Wolfgang Rihm: Ländler for 13 strings
Béla Bartók: Romanian folk dances
Heinz Marti: Muotathaler night music
Fabian Müller (Arr.): Three dances for Barde and string orchestra

Franz Schubert never visited the Muotatal. Back in his day, there were no stage-coaches going from Vienna in that direction, so to make up for this, the Zuger Sinfonietta and Barde are going to make the journey, and you are all cordially invited to come along as well. We’ll pick you up in Vienna, pop into Romania (it’s on the way) and then travel full speed ahead to the Muotatal here in Switzerland. This is where the Barde will take over for a traditional Swiss second half, so if everybody would please get off the bus, it’s time to dance.
