School of IT the sole Swiss institution invited to be involved with

It has been announced that the School of Information Technology of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, which is based in Rotkreuz, has been invited to take part in a prestigious project set up by the European Union known as the “EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum” to provide politicians with the necessary information they need in order to create the appropriate legal frame-work for this new technology.

A number of other renowned institutions have also been invited to take part; these include Imperial College in London, the Knowledge Media Institute of the Open University, the university of Southampton and the ConSensys software company based in the United States.

As this new blockchain technology is complex and not easy for lay people to understand, it was felt politicians involved in drafting new legislation relating to it needed to be kept properly informed and this is what this new body will do.

The School of IT in Rotkreuz is very much involved with this pioneering new technology, which, inter alia, enables tamper-proof databases to be set up.
