Riverside walk by the Lorze now complete

After eight years of careful planning and construction, the path by the River Lorze has at last been completed and is there for all to enjoy.

This delightful riverside walk connects Cham and Hagendorn over a three-and-a-half-kilometre stretch starting from where the River Lorze begins to flows out of the lake between the Villette Park and Hirsgarten. It then continues below the Bärenbrücke through to the Hammergut and on to the Reussspitz nature reserve.

Great care was taken to ensure the route of the path did not disturb any particularly sensitive areas of nature.

At the same time the Lorze Paradise recreation park in Hagendorn has also been upgraded. In order to celebrate the culmination of this project, there will be an official opening ceremony at 11 am on Saturday 30 May at the afore-mentioned recreation ground followed by a communal walk to the Untermühle recreation ground where drinks will be served at noon. This will be followed by a further walk to the Lorzenpark where a barbecue will be held at 1 pm. All members of the public are warmly invited to take part.
