Räikkönen nowhere to be found

Former Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen, who won the title in 2007 with McLaren and drove for Ferrari last year, has yet to be seen in Baar, even though he purchased a house there in April.

 

The Finn and his girlfriend Jenny Dahlmann purchased the luxurious Villa Butterfly in the Obere Rebhalde street in Baar in April 2009, as reported in Zug4You, but the only sign of them has been the "K.R." and "J.D." initials which have been appended to the letter box of the 3,000 square metre abode which is though to have cost CHF 33 million. Neighbours have yet to see the Flying Finn in the flesh, but "Kimi Räikkönen's official primary residence is in Baar", maintains the local registrar Walter Lipp.

 

Many are the rich and famous who invest in property throughout Switzerland and in particular in cantons with fiscal privileges, though the question remains as to why someone should invest over CHF 30 million in a house which they never use, however much tax they may be saving...
