Racing cyclist injured after crashing into car

A 29-year-old racing cyclist sustained more than just superficial injuries as he crashed into a car in the city centre on Thursday morning.
 
The incident happened at 7.30 am as the cyclist passed by a queue of stationary vehicles on Artherstrasse. At that moment one vehicle began to turn right from Artherstrasse into Zugerbergstrasse. Although the driver stopped when he noticed the approaching cyclist, the latter still crashed into it. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment, though he was not seriously injured. Damage amounting to several thousands of francs was caused.
