Preparations in full swing for TV programme
500,000 viewers are expected to watch the popular "SF bi de Lüt" programme as it is broadcast live at 8 pm on Sunday on SF1 from Zug's Landsgemeindeplatz, in the presence of around 2,500 spectators.
"We are delighted to be able to host this programme," said Regula Kaiser, president of the organising committee and member of the planning department of the city, who have contributed CHF 100,000 towards covering the costs.
As it is the last in the series, Swiss TV said the programme will "maintain a bit of the summer heat" with viewers able to experience something of the canton and its people, its local specialities as well as being kept informed about the latest developments and places of interest in the canton. As for musical entertainment, the Wiesenberg yodelling club will be performing as well as Fabienne Louves & the Zuger Chind, Yasmine-Melanie and the Gupfbuebe. The programme will also be presented by Nik Hartmann, who hails from the canton himself.
Three particular places of interest in the city will be featured, presented by Beat Dittli (photograph), an expert on local place names and city guide. "I will be a bit nervous on Sunday," said the 55-year-old who has been filming for half a day for a slot which will only last one-and-a-half minutes in the programme itself.
"It is as if we will be presenting the final bouquet of the summer series and we will make sure the viewers do not forget Zug in a hurry," said an excited Kaiser.
