Opportunity arises to speak one's mind through a loudspeaker

Unlike in nine other cantons, including Zurich, 1 May is not a public holiday in Zug. However, there will be celebrations on the occasion of International Labour Day on Landsgemeindeplatz as usual.

The theme of this year’s Mayday is “A more just and social future for all”, and from 5 pm onwards, those gathered will be able to hear rousing speeches, not least from Doris Bianchi of the Swiss Federation of Trade Unions, city councillor Astrid Estermann of the Alternative Green Party, and Fabian Freimann, a cantonal parliamentarian representing Cham.

Furthermore, if there anything you would like to get off your chest, here is the opportunity to do so, and at great volume, too, with the help of a loudspeaker.

Among those providing musical entertainment on the occasion will be singer Jazzmin, along with the Zug 1 May Choir. In addition, there will be a number of information stands as well as refreshment stalls.
