Medical practice to join another extended one in former post office building

In addition to the main post office on Postplatz closing in November 2015, so did the ones on Baarerstrasse and Alpenstrasse next to the station. Since this time, in order to buy a stamp, members of the public have had to go to the new post office at the Laubenhof, though one temporary one remains at the former main post office as no partner for an agency branch has yet been found. There is also the one in the Herti Centre, too.

As to the premises formerly occupied by the post office on Alpenstrasse, spokeswoman Nathalie Dérobert confirmed that the Radiologiezentrum already there will be extending its area by some 140 square metres and that the Arzthaus.ch medical practice, which already operates from surgeries in Aarau, St Gallen and two in Zurich, will be moving into the remaining 330 square metres freed up. She also said the necessary alteration work would be completed by the summer but could not give a definite date when the medical service providers would be moving in.

In addition to changes to the interior of the building there will also be a number of external alterations. For example, an additional entrance will be built, some windows will be replaced, and a nearby shelter removed; various ATMs and such like will remain, however.
