It's Rock the Docks time again

The annual free Rock the Docks Festival starts today and continues until Sunday.

Kicking off the event this year will be three young men from Zug and Zurich known as The Real Maynuts, who have been singing together for some seven years now. Then The Dues from Winterthur, who won the Wahu Award at the Galvanik Cultural Centre in 2013, will be performing on Friday evening, too.  In addition to these local groups, four Swedish punk girls will be performing as Tiger Bell and then, later in the evening, the Russian Russkaja group from Austria will be on stage. The lead singer of Polka-Beats meets Balkan Metal, Georgij Makazaria, will also be making an appearance.

On Saturday two local groups from Zug will be performing. These will be The Return of Margrit Garlic, who perform groovy rock with a hint of reggae and Famara, who specialise in reggae itself. These will be followed by Sounds, a punk rock band from Sweden. They are best known for their song "Living in America", which came out in 2002.

As the concerts comes to an end, the after-show parties begin. Friday's will take place in Industrie 45 as Saturday's goes ahead in Galvanik.

Not that children have been forgotten; on Sunday they will be able to get made up as Vikings or princesses and then bop away to Dancelious in the afternoon.
