Four-car collision leads to delays on A4a motorway

Four cars travelling the same direction were involved in a collision on the A4a motorway in Baar on Wednesday morning.
 
The incident happened shortly before 8 am as a 27-year-old woman driver left the motorway from the Blegi direction. Unfortunately she failed to notice that cars in front of her were stationary and she crashed into the car in front. This in turn led to a concertina effect involving four cars in all. Both the 27-year-old woman and another women who sustained slight injuries in the incident were taken to hospital by the emergency services. Three cars were totally written off in the incident. Not unsurprisingly at this time of the day, traffic congestion built up.
 
In an unrelated incident one-and-a-half hours before, two cars collided into each other at the Gubel/Dammstrasse roundabout (second photograph) but fortunately neither the 31-year-old driver nor the 54-year-old one was injured. Damage was caused to both vehicles but no indication was given as to what extent financially.
